We have these huge hydrangeas on each end of the house, like a hedge. They grow huge each year and then fall over. We love them but without cutting them back they are quickly a mess. We do everything ourselves. I try to plan things that will be ok when we are able to do less. Like I mow lots of area now that will be ok going back to nature. We plant trees and perennials that require less maintenance. I try to restrain my wife when she wants a bigger garden or to expand beds but well ... A gardener is not in our retirement plans. Maybe I should try to add one in 🤔 probably not going happen
