Autumn in the Dyje Valley (Moravia, Czechia)

)

Fall in southern Moravia is... captivating. Actually, English isn't my native language, so there's definitely a chance I didn't pick the right word. In Czech, I'd say something like "podmanivý".

The foliage turns into so many different shades ‒ from yellow through orange, ochre, red, and into brown. And the forests wrap themselves in blankets of fog. It gets colder and damper more often, but when the sun breaks through the clouds, all those colors just light up.

From an artistic perspective, fall is a beautiful time. But personally, I'm not a fan. I did a closet inventory, tucking away summer shirts and t-shirts into the back drawers and pulling out sweaters and warm hoodies instead.

These photos actually show the start of fall, when things weren't so bad yet. Now most of the leaves have already dropped, and some mornings it's almost freezing. Sometimes I wonder if it's a blessing or a curse to live in a region that has all four seasons ‒ summers hitting 90°F and winters dropping to minus 5°F. That can't possibly be healthy for a person.

Though I guess I'm exaggerating. Complaining about the weather doesn't help anyone anyway, and there are places where it's even worse. 😊

I edited these photos using Luminar Neo from Skylum (https://skylum.com). If you're a photographer who wants to edit quickly and efficiently without getting bogged down in technical stuff, I think it's your best bet.

So beautiful Czechia. 😍 Love every time I read something similar to our Morava. 🥰
