I positioned myself about 50 meters from the corner and began capturing with my cell phone camera the continuous spectacle of light and shadow that constantly shifted. They always turn off one part of the city for hours and then the other. And there I was, standing in the darkness, observing the street between light and darkness.

I then set out to capture the cars, vans, buses, motorcycles and... that passed by, constantly renewing the scenery with their lights...

Capturing images of moving objects on the lens was quite a challenge. Although the cars' early arrival signaled their imminent approach, capturing them at the precise moment they crossed the intersection was no easy feat.

I do think, however, that I got some interesting pictures. I've always enjoyed experimenting with photography, and I believe this was one of those wonderful opportunities where I could do something out of the ordinary. And also with the purpose of turning those hours of discouragement due to the lack of electricity into motivation to create and find beauty in everything around us... thank you for coming with me to this corner!

Caminando por el barrio descubrí un lugar desde el que increíbles imágenes se sucedían una tras otra. Desde este punto podía ver la carretera central, que une a Cuba de oriente a occidente y por la cual pasa la mayor cantidad de tráfico automotriz, atravesando la ciudad hacia otros municipios.

Me posicione a unos 50 metros de la esquina y comencé a capturar con la cámara de mi celular el continuo espectaculo de luces y sombras que variaban incesantemente. Siempre apagan una parte de la ciudad por horas y después la otra. Y ahí estaba yo, parado en la oscuridad, visualizando la calle intermedia entre la luz y la oscuridad.

Me propuse entonces captar los autos, camionetas, omnibus, motos y ... que pasaban renovando constantemente la escenografía con sus luces...

Dejar impresas en el lente las imágenes de cosas en movimiento era todo un reto. A pesar de que la llegada anticipada de los automóviles anunciaban su pronta cercanía, poder captarlos en el justo momento de su paso por esa intercepción no fue fácil.

Creo sin embargo que obtuve imágenes interesantes. Siempre me ha gustado experimentar con la fotografía y creo esta fue una de esas magníficas oportunidades donde he podido hacer algo fuera de lo convencional. Y también con el propósito de convertir esas horas de desaliento por la falta de electricidad en una motivación para crear y encontrar belleza en todo lo que nos rodea.... gracias por venir conmigo hasta esta esquina!!
