The Heart of the Himalayas "Sangam Place"

I hope you all are fine. I am also fine here. Today's post is all about nature and its beauty. By the way, I definitely make a post in the photographylovers community once a week. And this week's post is here. Every time I collect the first photograph and prepare a collage photograph in which the essence of my entire post is. But today I am presenting the post in a different way. In which the first photograph above is the Sangam place. Here Sangam means the place where two rivers meet. The two rivers seen in the above photographs are the Indus and the Zanskar rivers. And the photographs in today's post are my most favorite photographs and this place is my most favorite place that I have visited so far.

The photograph above is my most favorite photograph. I will talk to you a little about this Sangam place. Ladakh, located in the northern part of India, is famous for its rugged mountains and rugged landscapes. This place has been blessed with geographical beauty from nature. Due to which tourists, photographers and nature lovers have been fascinated by this place. This is the confluence of two mighty rivers, known as Sangam in Hindi and born from the glaciers of the Himalayas. This confluence is located about 35 kilometers from Leh and near a small village named Nimmu.

The river seen in the photograph above is the Zanskar which further turns into the Indus River. The Indus River has a place as one of the longest and historically important rivers of Asia. This river originates from the Tibetan plateau. And passes through Ladakh and finally flows into Pakistan. The tributary of the Indus River originates from the Zanskar Valley which can be seen in the photograph above. This region is covered with snow and surrounded by high mountains and peaks. The beauty of which can be guessed from the photographs above.

Above are two photographs presented to you in which if you look carefully at the second photograph, you will realize that the colors of both the rivers are different. The water of the Indus River is usually greenish blue in color. It looks very clear and calm. On the other hand, the Zanskar River flows through the Zanskar Valley. This river is surrounded by high mountains. So the Zanskar River has brown and muddy water. Which makes this river brown in color. And this situation is especially created in the summer when the snow melts and mixes with the river. When these two rivers meet, they do not immediately mix. Instead, they flow together for some time. You can clearly see the greenish waves of the Indus and the muddy waves of the Zanskar moving together.

The confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers is a beautiful and peaceful place in Ladakh, India. To reach this place, you first have to come to Leh. Once you reach Leh, the confluence is not very far from there. This place is about 35 km away on the Leh-Srinagar highway. You can easily reach here by car, bike or taxi. And the road is good and smooth. It takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour to reach Sangam from Leh. On the way, you will see beautiful mountains, Magnetic Hill and some monasteries like Spituk and Likir.

The best time to visit this place is from May to September. During this time, the weather is pleasant. And the roads are open. In winter, this area becomes very cold. And the Zanskar river freezes. It is also beautiful in winter. But the journey can be more difficult. The photographs above are from a visit during winter. In winter, the beauty of this place is at its peak. The main attraction here is walking on the ice along the river bank and capturing the high mountains around in the camera.

I believe that the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers is a living picture. It is a place where history flows. The mountains stand as silent guardians. The multi-colored waves at the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers show us how beautiful and special nature can be. Standing on the banks of the two rivers here and watching them merge and move forward as one is amazing. This is a memory that remains in the heart of every visitor who sees it.
