Torre De Marfil: Gustavo Cerati - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Hit It from the american band American Authors

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Torre De Marfil from the legendary argentine artist Gustavo Cerati.

After talking about a song that I really liked thanks to the influence of video games, now it's time to change gears completely and talk about who I consider to be one of my favorite Argentine artists of all time: Gustavo Cerati.

For as long as I can remember, my house has always been filled with Argentine rock music because it was the music of my mother's childhood, adolescence, and youth. So, from time to time, I would play some of the classics from that era on a speaker. That's how I got to know many songs of the genre that I liked, but without knowing the artist at the time.

It wasn't until my teenage years that I developed a real interest in the genre, when I got to know some bands from the 90s and 2000s, but without knowing the pioneering artists. I also knew Argentina's most famous rock band, Soda Stereo, but I had never been a big fan.

A few years later, I became curious to listen to the pioneering artists of the genre and started with Charly Garcia, who, for many and in my opinion too, is the most important artist in our history. The truth is that after listening to one of his songs, I understood why he had such a reputation and became an absolute fan (I listen to Charly all the time).

About two years ago, I was pretty addicted to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Roleplay, where I used to play with a group of friends I made there. One of them had the nickname Siempre es Hoy (It's Always Today), and I was quite curious as to why. He told me it was his favorite Gustavo Cerati album and showed me one of its main songs: Cosas Imposibles (Impossible Things).

The truth is that Siempre es Hoy struck me as a spectacular album, and I've discovered some great music from it, such as Cosas Imposibles, No te Creo, Artefacto, Vivo, Naci Para Esto, Tu Cicatriz en Mi, Sudestada, and my choice today: Torre de Marfil. The album has also been very important in helping me review all of the artist's musical works, allowing me to listen to gems such as Amor Amarillo, Ahi Vamos, and Fuerza Natural.

I didn't end up being a fan of his most celebrated period, that of Soda Stereo, but rather I became a fan of his entire musical repertoire as a solo artist, making him my second favorite Argentine artist, just behind the genius Charly Garcia.
