It's that time of year again where I get a bonus in One4All vouchers. Now the thing about these kinds of gift vouchers is that they are tax deductible so I get more in these vouchers than ever in cash. So it was decided a few years ago that vouchers were the way to go because I don't get taxed to the gonads on them. Fair enough. So the thing is now is how to turn these cards into cash money. I usually pay for the entire summer holiday out of these bad boys and what we did in the last few years was , wife takes them doing her weekly shopping and then transfers the same amount from our bank account into the holiday fund. But it is the long game and a bit of a pian because it could take months to get this over the line and there is a cashflow problem then when you are booking the holiday and flights. So I went to Reddit which is my "Go to" website for useful tips and it never disappoints. Reddit people recommended uploading it to your Apple Pay wallet and then using it to lodge money into your Revolut account. 50 bucks at a time. This was a starling discovery but I found out that it was a year too late as One4All had worked this loophole out and closed it pretty quickly, The new thing on Reddit is to go into a store that takes them and buy Amazon Gift cards given you more choice of what to buy but this was not going to serve my purpose either. Dam you One4All. Dam you. One4Some you mean. I have uploaded one of the €500 cards up to my apply pay and then tried to throw €50 into Binance and then cunningly withdraw that way straight to my bank account. I laughed whole heartetly like Dick Dastardly hiding behind a hedge (while winning the race) to cheat. The first little happy days payment complete ping came up on my phone. I love that noise. The transaction success noise but then Binance kicked in and told me to go shit in my hat. Transaction failed.
So my various tactics failed. It was time to bring in the family on the situation. My sister just moved into her new apartment so I did a bat signal to her encouraging her to use a One4All instead and give me the cash money. Sweet sweet cash money. There's a wool coat from Superdry and Co (& Co signifies that it's not Japeanesy anymore and now gone posh ). I ordered my family to buy that for my birthday but my one birthday wish was it would be purchased with gift cards. MY GIFT CARDS!!!! WOOOOUUUUYYYYYYHAHAHAHAH.
Next was a Whatsapp that went out to the Waterford Spurs Supporters club and a few friends groups. If there was any large appliance purchases coming up then I will meet them at the door of the gift card accepting appliance store and give them a 20% discount if they paid in gift cards. This was met with a vast array of comebacks of the insulting nature and my nickname has now become One4All. The person slagging me the most DM'ed me and took me up on the offer as he was purchasing a new vacuum cleaner for a princely sum of €299.00.
1 down and about 7 to go.
Now Hive is a place that loves an old scam. This year alone we have seen Vibes, SpendHBD, BRO, numerous other DHF projects, (take your pick). Even Genesis League Sports were scammed from a member of their loyal community at the start. The Hive scams are always elaborate. Where there is a bug or a fault it seems they can find a way to extract value from it. So I ask you. Chief of scammers and without me giving you any of my One4All's , what would you do? Look past your hatred of my posts about me . This is your chance of redemption. And before you say it , I am not setting up a Happy Supermarket and getting my friends to pose with a basket full of booze with a Oen4All.
I am not sure if these cards are available in the UK but if you have any way of converting these to cash let me know. Before you say it , if you ring their office it all depends how the cards were purchased. So for businesses you cannot get cash back as they will contact your employer and it would be back to a tax issue so that is out of the question. I guess I am just gonna have to buy a shit load of chicken, toilet roll, milk , bread like every year.
Unlimited amount of toilet roll seems reasonable - inflation resistant - always needed.
I shall make a toilet roll igloo and go on holidays there .
This doesn't fall within my scam expertise, because I'm from a poor family, so all we get for Christmas is homemade cookies and washcloths.
Trying to convert gift cards to cash is a very redneck dilemma, however, so I'll discuss your problem with some of my favorite felons.
I don't know if you guys have regular toilet paper shortages, but if you get them with practically every snow storm or flood, as we do here, you may be able to grow your stack a bit by stockpiling TP, then selling it back to peasants during the next catastrophe.
We buy bread before a storm. Our storms are fairly weak so we don’t shit ourselves like you yanks with your posh cat 4 tornados
Skip the holidays this year and go next year. Problem solved just like that.
You handled a frustrating situation with a lot of humor.
You if you don’t laugh you would cry
Very true! Better to be the one laughing at the situation than the one stressed out by it
I have no clue what these cards are that you speak of. Too bad you couldn't use them to buy precious metals that hold their value and then sell the precious metals off for something else. I remember a long time ago there were people who would buy newly minted coins and money with their credit cards. Get obscene amounts of points from their rewards, then when they got the coins/whatever take it and apply it towards the original purchase. Basically gaming the system to earn free trips and all kinds of other stuff. Like just once I would love to think of something deliciously genius like that.
They are basically gift cards you can use in a number of retailers but none every retailer. I could technically buy jewellery or gold out of them but I want it to pay for holidays so I’m more in it for the short term .
Ah, okay.
