The Reality of Life, Moon Game on Hive and some politics here and there

in #hive3 days ago (edited)

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing good. I just wanted to do some freewriting and, hopefully, be able to catch the writing bug so that I can be more consistent in uploading blogs. It's already half of the year and I realize that time lost cannot be brought back. So, here goes...

Not as strange as fiction

We just finished midterm elections here and it was not as crazy as I thought it would be. Of course, there were those expected to be contenders and were out of the top 12 in the senatorial race. Some were genuinely surprised by coming in among the top. Local elections were more "interesting" because of all the drama coming out in the open. I wasn't really following the news cycles for this election so I'm not familiar with what's happening all around but some stood out and surprised me.

I really believe that the current machine and system used by the Commission on Election did what it was supposed to do, which is to count the right votes, transmit it at the right time and prevent unauthorized access to the system. It was transparent and had multiple back ups. Given that no system is 100% full proof, I think this was a big, big upgrade from the previous one. Also, I've not read any major issues from any part of the country so kudos to the COMELEC for this. Hopefully, we will get to the point where it continues to improve in the future.

Moon game is fire

On the other hand, I've relly enjoyed the #moon game. It doesn't have that stress of trying to "earn" from playing the game nor to spend big amounts of money to buy in-game boosts and items. There is that option too via Pizza --> Pizzabits but fortunately not a hard sell. I liked that it was more "game" focused and one can enjoy it just building your world or engaging with others via Alliances and / or attacking others players for the resources. I believe that as far as these kinds of text based strategy games are concerned, I really had fun playing. Hopefully, Season 2 gives us another fun and exciting game. I'm looking forward to it. In the meantime, I'm still playing...

Life

I just got a message that one of the relatives passed away. So, I'm kinda sad at the moment. He's from my wife's side, but we had good relations with their family. At times like this, I think about life and death, and how easy it is to take one's life for granted. Given that we really don't know when it will be our "time" makes me just want to ignore that this time will ever come, for me and for the people close to me. On the other hand, there is that side of me that wants to be prepared for the practical aspects in case of death. I mean, I would want my family not to be burdened with finances and arrangements too much.

Final Thoughts

Anyways, life goes on for us. One thing that stands out for sure is that it is a blessing to be alive. And I am really grateful for that.

Love and peace,
