New day new location in KL, the second day was in a new venue, very different then in chinatown, lot more green and sunlight. The day always starts with coffee and a few things for the ones that didn't have breakfast like me.
Made it on time and managed to see most of the conference today unlike yesterday, I was drinking water and Mocktails at our Hive dinner last night.
Opening the event to other ecosystem and project I think is a great trick, we get to meet new people and the local ecosystem, lots of variety in the talks like bitcoin treasuries, RWA and even a panel on AI.
No couch to rest on this time but a more conventional setup with chairs near the stage, speaker as well in the café area so you could still hear the sound if you went for a break during a talk.
Below is the picture of the entrance after going up the stairs from the road, there was a setup on the upper floor for people that wanted to learn more about the tech on Hive but I forgot to check it out, sorry no picture from me but I am sure many others went.
Compare to yesterday there was two areas for booths(one Hive focuses and the other for local parters)
Little souvenir badge for my third in person Hivefest + the 2 VR ones. With Kuala Lumpur in 2025, I did Lisbon in 2017 and Amsterdam in 2022. It is cool to see some familiar faces even after not coming for 2 years and also meeting new people, creating new friendships.
Our little mascot was a penguin, apparently this is a meme or something but I didn't figure out and I have no sourced information, maybe just intox. Anyway penguin were everywhere, on stage and on the plants.
Whoever was in there did a good job, cause walking was probably a pain (and walking onto the stage)
First part is done but Hivefest is not over.
This went fast, both conference days are over and now it is more free time and finding what you want to do in KL with other hiver/hivian.
For Saturday there is a bus going to the Batu Caves in the morning, I am sure some will go, I am considering it myself.
Also the ritual of beer Saturday is on.
Sunday will be about closing drinks and the final dinner all together before people parts ways again until next time. I am sure some will stay around Malaysia or Asia and some will return home.
For myself I will travel to borneo after before continuing my trip.
Hivefest is already fill with some happy memories, lots a deep conversation specially during the opening drinks, I guess white wine make me talk more and longer 😅
It is not over yet and still some fun to be had but for me all hivefest have been a pretty cool and memorable experience.
Very grateful that I made the decision to come this year.
Also this will be my first world mapping post (I think), thanks to the ambassadors that were present on site today.
