On Friday morning I was up at 4AM and got the load of linens washing. I got a load in the dishwasher and then got my post up. I got the linens in the dryer and cleaned up the kitchen.

My helper friend arrived at 8AM and I’d gotten ready for the day. He started cleaning in the living room where he’d left off on Thursday. I was ironing and starching linens.

I’d gotten the milk order done and called the mulch hay guy for another load of hay. He would come late afternoon.

When I finished that, I started washing or dusting and polishing all the things he’d brought to the kitchen.

At 9AM the solar repair guy arrived to install the new inverter. It took him quite a while.

My helper and I worked on cleaning the rest of the living room and then the dining room. He left just before 12PM. We’d gotten all but a few pictures on the walls (I’d forgotten those) and the dining room floor washed. We’ll finish the floor on Tuesday and get the kitchen and bathroom done then too.

I sat down to rest for a couple hours before heading out to the Big garden at 2PM.

I got the last of the wet bales spread and then cleaned up where they had been. I had just finished getting photos and gone inside when the hay guy called. He was on his way up the driveway!

He’d brought a helper who was fascinated with what we had been doing out here. We got the hay unloaded and the hay guy wanted to get back to the farm as he sells Christmas trees and decorations and this was their opening weekend. But the young man continued to pepper me with questions. I told him he could come back any time and I’d show him what we had been doing.

I was finished for the day and went inside when they left. I was sitting down when I realized I’d not gotten a photo of the new inverter. So I went up to the barn. It’s on the back side of the barn and all brambles and vines. I made back got my photo and tripped on the last bramble and down I went.

The owner of the horse farm to the right was out riding and saw me go down. But I was fine and back up in a minute. She had seen the new gray tiger cat and had been trying to feed it and catch it. I told her I had seen it last week and wondered if it was hers. She wondered if it was mine. So she’s going to try to catch it and get it to the vet for shots and neutering. Someone probably dropped it off here.

Back at the house, I was trying to talk on the phone with my sister, with help in my face. I sat for a while then got the shades pulled, the stoves going, and found something to eat.

I was in bed by 8PM.

On Saturday it’s to rain in the early morning. I have got to move that wet hay so I’ll be going out after noontime to do that. I also have to clean the kitchen up and then get the pictures from the living room cleaned up. Then I plan to take it easy and watch Christmas movies.

Sort:

I hope the weather stays good for your duties, here it's getting very very cold and that the new inverter works well... Larry is a good companion, with lovely warm!

So glad you didn't hurt yourself when you tripped. Geeze, glad she saw you go down though.

The tumble by the barn must’ve hurt, but at least the hay got moved and the garden looks ready for winter.

Nope, no injuries, not even achey.

Oh that's good 🥰

Sounds like a very busy day, It’s great that you got so much done with cleaning, gardening, and helping out with farmers. Ending the day with Christmas movies sounds like a perfect way to relax after all that work.

It was such a busy and productive day. Managing so much work and still planning some relaxation sounds really smart. The idea of Christmas movies is so cozy too.

Good luck catching that cat. We have done that a couple of times and it always seemed much harder than I expected 🤦

Having so many farms on the road, it happens every so often. She wants to have another barn cat, so she will persevere I expect...
