Wow! Never seen this before... Though Cloudflare frequently comes up for me with "are you Human" check...

According to its website: Cloudflare was created to ease these difficulties and empower users with the resources to make their sites, apps, and blogs safe and performant
!!

Doesn't sound like they are fulfilling their mission.

A good way for a company to lose my business is to put me on one of those wait lists. Yesterday I tried to drop off a sample at a medical laboratory. I couldn't get anyone on the phone. The website demanded all kinds of information before I could get help, and then I had to wait for an appointment. Just to drop something off.

Story finishes this way: They didn't get my business, and in the future if the doctor directs me to that lab I will refuse.

The alternative is for the site to crash. This is just resource management. They could upgrade their infrastructure, but if it's a once every few years users have to wait a few minutes or pay a LOT more to have unnecessary infrastructure, guess which a company is going to pick?

Make a change with our wallets and we improve the world over time! These places need to convince us to use them and they ought to remember that.

I would've also said no thanks, for the appointment and the site!

They didn't get my business, and never will.

Well without Cloudflare many websites would be open to DDOS attacks. So sucks they do this but they are very much needed for large scale DDOS mitigation. Unless you make your own.

Maybe they are making a place for someone else to offer the same service. I don't know anything about DDOS mitigation, but generally bad service generally opens the possibility that someone will offer the same technology, but with better service. Again, I don't know anything about the technology.

Are you sure it wasn't for a Ticketmaster ticket sale or something like that? 😄

Funny me neither

I've never run into before either. I hope they manage to rectify the issue quickly!
