I started attending these regularly just for the heck of it. There's no professional credits here for me. It's just on a whim.
Here's a link to Mind Spring Mental Health Allliance Scheduled Webinars you can attend via zoom. The sessions last around an hour and they're free. You just have to answer the survey post webinar and you get the certificate of attendance.
It's one of those moments where I just want to update the long list of trainings undergone on my resume for the fun challenge of how far I can stretch the pages. It's unlikely I'll remember all or apply what I learned but nothing wrong in trying to bulk up my resume for kicks and giggles.
Beyond those reasons, the topics discussed can be interesting and applicable to my current profession related to mental health. I'm just spreading the word out here that anyone can also access to this free stuff and it only takes them an internet connection and time to learn something new everyday.
This isn't a paid ad. I just want to share what I know and spread the info out here. There's a lot of stigma for people suffering from mental health problems and while things are more openly accepted now than decades ago, I can still see how there are still some resistance to accepting people suffering from mental health. I see it on my colleagues, co-workers, and other allied health professions still. I can understand why only few people really pick psychiatry or mental health, it just takes a different mindset to last long in this profession.
Thanks for your time.
