Hardworking Bee 🐝
Temperatures topped at 20ºC in my ends today, even though mostly cloudy, so I was out there enjoying it with hundreds of thousands of other people. I took it a little easy because, having been pessimistic about the weather, I was overdressed for the occasion. Walking too briskly, or for too long, would have been quite uncomfortable.
Walking slowly makes you appreciate things more. I noticed that the early flowers have died off, slowly making way for the first few fruits of the season. I also noticed some of the new flowers are starting to bloom and, boy, are the bees out in force!
It's their job, bees, to ensure the cross pollination of plants. They land of flowers and feed on nectar. Meanwhile the pollen attach to the bees and hitch a ride to the next flower. Butterflies and some birds do the same job, but bees are the most efficient at it.
It's the perfect give an take. As a reward for the bee's hard work and contribution to the continuation of the plant species, it gets to gather nectar with which it creates honey, which contributes to the perpetuation of the bees too.
I thought it funny when I suddenly saw a special bee chilling on the curb as if resting from a hard day's work. I initially just walked past it, but then decided to return to take a picture. Lol.
Rather than just throw things away, sometimes people here would leave things outside for others to pick up if they want. I've seen some interesting things around here including books, kitchen utensils and even a "working" TV.
There is a heat wave blowing past next week so I'm quite excited about that. Temperatures are predicted to reach mid 20's by Wednesday! This includes clear blue skies with no or little rain. I'm going to be having an outdoorsy week for sure.
Peace & Love,
Adé
