poem: common communion

she twisted my hand
like a vintner's vine
the mouth feel robed her teeth
bridging the divine

she held the glass
and I poured the wine
spilling words into ears
swirling fermented lines

she said "hallelu"
as the ducks multiplied
the geese peered like judges
I weighed their sight

my bread was my pardon
for taking their space
a hand torn communion
of our mixed race
