The Orcs Are Coming! The Splinterlands are under siege! The effect was amplified by the Conclave Arcana set, where orcs where given a bloodline and extra abilities! To celebrate the new Bloodline mechanics, the team wanted to encourage as many people as possible to participate in the Wild Format! where we believe you’ll really enjoy the competition and excitement these mechanics add.
For one season only, the 2000 DEC cost of the Wild Pass will be waived! All the players can experience the fun and thrill of doing battles with their older cards too. Jump in and enjoy!
The seals are broken and the arcane chaos once locked away is flooding into our world. We feel it in the cards! We see it in the packs! We crave the power... and orcs can help us to achieve it!
I feel like Medivh, opening the Dark Portal and letting the horde loose! You know the story of the last Guardian of Tirisfal, who had been corrupted by the dark Titan Sargeras? This is a similar story but set on a different realm!
Medivh collaborated with Gul'dan, and provided the arcane knowledge needed to create the portal, while Gul'dan rallied the orcish Horde to prepare for the invasion of Azeroth.
While many orcs believed they were fighting for the glory and expansion of their people, they were unknowingly serving as pawns in a much larger scheme orchestrated by Sargeras and the Burning Legion.
Medivh was the catalyst, but the orcs were the weapon! Now I am the catalyst, the orcs are the weapon... and the Splinterlands will see my army marching and conquering kingdoms! Say hello to Gorgug The Endless!
To the Grimward of Grazg Batul, warriors either fall or fight forever... and Gorgug the Endless is the latter. Both shaman and warrior, he can channels the strength of his ancestors to stand firm as the Grimward face overwhelming odds.
While storms rage and tides rise, Gorgug remains unshaken. The Conclave Arcana believes power is taken but Gorgug knows it's earned. When the battle ends and carrion birds circle... it won’t be the Conclave left standing!
Orcs are known for their brute strength and relentless fighting style, usually tied to the Earth Splinter, though they occasionally show up in neutral roles or across other sets. They’re often designed as tough, melee-focused brawlers who thrive in the thick of battle!
They are perfect for frontline positions or aggressive lineups that rely on sheer force. The aggressivity can be enhanced through the powers of the archon, with Bloodline Dominion synergy! This is how Gorgug The Endless made my horde of orcs win a battle where he had to... keep the distance!
The mana cap was generous, but the two battle rules made it difficult. With Counterspell pairing with Keep the Distance, it was clear that the selection had to focus on ranged units.
Gorgug the Endless: Archon with -1 Ranged Attack and Bloodline
Djinn Oshannus: Caster with Void
Warborn Shaman: Caster Orc
Steppe Stalker: Ranged Orc with Close Range
Grimward Ruinshot: Ranged Orc
Naga Windmaster: Ranged with Headwinds
Razorhound: Ranged with Strengthen
Gorgug was the right orc for the job, with his ability to reduce ranged attacks and giving enrage to his bloodline! I create a strong synergy, with both the archon and the Naga Windmaster reducing the ranged power of the enemy! The combo dropped the the attack of the Lava Launcher and Contess Sinash to only one power!
Casters in the team with Counterspell? Why not? Djinn Oshannus will be ok as he has Void, and the Warborn Shaman was chosen because... it's an orc and has Void Armor! This will delay few rounds of self inflicted harm!
The first round went on without anything memorable, as the first kill was done half-way through the second act! The Warbon Shaman delivered the deadly shot, and Iidri Fyre answered back with Redemption! One damage delt to all my units but no drama!
The Ash Mirage took on tanking, and even if this infernal creature is strong... it couldn't handle the orcs rage! The Lava Launcher's mission was impossible, as his comrades were not good enough! I was still with my full team, and Djinn Oshannus was leading the charge!
The fourth round came with causalities, as the Pyromancer nuked two of my units with a single blow! The Naga Windmaster was taken down, and Razorhound followed as the Blast bounced! The enemies got +1 ranged power and my units got -1 health after this!
The next move was worthy of the "Suicide Squad" movie, as the Warborn Shaman defeated the Lava Launcher... but the counterspell defeated the orc! It turned into a 3v3 but I was confident with my orcs!
The Pyromancer had a good run, but it ended abruptly after Oshannus casted a wave that extinguished the flames! The djinn's next victim was the Clockwork Aide, and Countess Sinash was left helplessly alone! See the full battle here!
Strategically, Orcs shine when you build around their strengths. They’re great at soaking damage while dishing it back, especially when boosted by melee or health buffs. If you’re looking to build around them or figure out how to counter them... you will rule the battlefield!
