Current Condition, Hard to Play on Modern
I think most players are agree (because my guild mates are think so !), that players find it hard to play on the modern league if they don't own the cards. This is because the demand are still high, but the supply is very low since the Chaos Legion Edition is out of the Modern League. We are usually use the CL cards as main power especially the summoners, and now, poofff ! They dissappeared ! Now we are all depend on the Rebellion and Conclave Arcana ! And I think the supply is still so little for both edition.
This might spark some question among us, why there is different on the Chaos Legion and Conclave Arcana supply ? In my opinion, this is because Chaos Legion edition got massive supply because most of the schoolarship were opened those days where the Chaos Legion edition is launched, and most of them are getting ton of the Chaos Legion packs and max them out for the schoolarship. Today, I think it's very different with schoolarship of Splinterlands mighht not that sexy with the current market condition, and this cause most of packs are bought by a real players, and most of them will use it for the battle. Only some might think about renting them out, and since the supply is very limited, the price will going high !
What I Do on Current Condition
I actually still trying to cope up with the latest ability from Conclave Arcana, and not yet getting my own preferred strategy. The process getting longer because I have limited time to play recently, and it's expensive to rent the higher level cards of the modern league cards ! With limited time, it will be a waste for me to rent an expensive cards, so I decide to look for lower cards, at least I can get used to the monsters on the new modern league.
But, since the new rental system have minimum rent price at 1 DEC/day, I think for some cards it's better to just get them on market and own some of them, because it will be cheaper on the long term, and you can own them by ourself !
The other way that I try is might be Silly, by hoping to get a black foil cards from the pack 😄
Black Foil Cards and My Unpack Result
Black foil is the most precious cards now, because they gave even more battle reward bonus (20% instead of 10% gold foil), and they will come as a maximum level ! This is super duper cool and great for the battlefield ! But of course, it will be extremely hard to get 😅

There you will find 4 different packs :
#1.STARTER PACK : Are unlimited with 1,000 DEC cost. Contains 5 Common or Rare cards, with 1 guaranteed to be Rare. Gold and Black Foil cards cannot be found in Starter Packs
#2.STANDARD PACK : Available 4,334,960 pack left for 4,000 DEC each. Contains 5 cards, with 1 guaranteed to be rare or better! (Just like the normal packs from previous edition)
#3.ALCHEMY PACK : Available 866,984 pack left for 12,000 DEC each. Contains 5 cards, with 1 guaranteed to be rare or better! Additionally 1 card is guaranteed to be Gold Foil.
#4.LEGENDARY PACK : Available 433,500 pack left for 24,000 DEC each. Contains 5 cards, with 1 guaranteed to be Legendary.
I go for a standard one, which cost 4000 DEC (around $3,9) ! Hopefully today is my lucky day !
Now we will get the notification of succesfull purchase, chose to view in mana well.
Now it's time to put the pack on the well. Let's pray for the best result !
I'm a little disappointed because no epic or legendary, no gold foil and no black foil, only 2 rare is coming beside the 3 commons. But I am a little glad to at least found a summoner there, because yeah, summoner is my target.
Based on the peakmonsters, my packs are valued at $3.4 from listing price and $3.07 from the market price. Not my lucky day, but not too bad either !
