Of course the built in editor is fine for most situations. It's pretty easy to use this setup once you get used to it, though. Just install the Atom editor, and start writing. Save your post with .md on the end, and it'll know you're working in markdown.

But then I have to learn markdown. I know it is simple, but I'd rather just use the built in editor.

As you can see at the top of the screenshot, it has buttons for everything you need, so you don't need to remember markdown.
