What an exciting time to be in the cryptocurrency space! Bitcoin reached a new ATH yesterday of $112,000, more people are venturing into the space, and most importantly we’re actually beginning to see some positive media coverage for crypto, finally.
I have a feeling this bull run is just getting started. There’s not time like the present to remind ourselves of this:
Don’t be afraid to sell when your gut tells you to. After seven years of crypto investing I can’t remember a single time I’ve regretted selling small amounts as the bull run builds. My only regrets have been not selling when my gut told me to. Also, remember the end-goal isn’t a luxurious lifestyle, it’s FREEDOM. Personal freedom is much more valuable than any possession could ever hope to be.

Artificial Intelligence Saves My Day
So we had a pretty major mishap yesterday with the new house. As some of you might remember we were getting a wood pellet stove installed and had some pretty extensive tiling work done where the stove was being installed. Well, yesterday as I was working out in the lower level I heard water gushing, a sound that strikes fear in the heart of any homeowner.
We had a mini waterfall seeping down through our lower level ceiling. At first we thought the water was coming through an exterior wall but low and behold it was coming from the chimney top. After a solid week of heavy rain the chimney crown completely failed and allowed the water to seep (gush) inside the house.
Grok was able to, not only diagnose the problem from the picture above, it told me the proper way to fix it and generated a list of top-rated, reputable, contractors in the area. This was beyond impressive and I can honestly say Grok proved its worth yesterday.
Thankfully we got a tarp installed on the top of the chimney and a contractor is coming out in a few days to permanently fix the problem. Thanks Grok!
Don’t Lose the Narrative (again)
A final thought for today. I’ve been seeing quite a bit of bickering and finger-pointing around our beloved platform lately and it’s, frankly, becoming concerning. It’s starting to give me flashbacks to that last year on Steemit where things spun out of control and the narrative was lost. When I peruse my feed, engagement and the overall general moods seem to be down. Maybe it's a false perception on my part but my gut is telling me otherwise. I'm curious—is anyone else noticing this?
Hive has so much potential. I care so deeply about this place because I’ve experienced, personally, how much it can change lives. We can’t lose the narrative again. When users bicker and blame each other endlessly it changes the entire vibe of the platform—turning users away and bolstering critics. Platform dysfunction and infighting actually becomes an example and tool critics can use to discredit decentralization. In the end, this will hurt everyone.
I don’t know the answer but there are a lot of intelligent and dynamic people on Hive who can figure out how to prevent another unraveling. We’re all taking part in this grand experiment together. Speaking of freedom, Hive has the potential to be the perfect pathway to freedom for a lot of people. We need to work together to determine how best to preserve this immense gift we have and not take it for granted.

Yes, it was a stressful day for sure. There's usually always some level of bickering on here but it seems to be building lately. Hopefully everyone can work through their differences for the good of the platform. I wonder if we'll see a traditional alt season this time or if so much money is in BTC now that alts won't see much price action? This cycle seems different.

Owning a home is exciting but also frustrating when things go wrong. You will get to a stage where the major issues are fixed, then just take your time with minor stuff. It's always exciting to see a project complete. AI is super helpful with diagnosing all kinds of issues, I've learnt a ton from it!
We must not allow the negativity to get to us, Hive has so many wonderful people. Sadly, just like in real life, there's always some bad elements.

I agree, AI is an amazing tool when used properly! I use Grok on a daily basis now (instead of internet searches) and for a whole host of other things. It's very good at medical diagnoses as well.
When I see this level of disagreement on Hive I get worried. I feel like sometimes people lose sight of the big picture, dig in their heels and then things spiral out of control. When this happens everyone suffers.

Funny I was thinking about a couple of these things just yesterday.
I am watching the crypto run and was considering hedging out a little like I always do. Then there's the fomo from selling too soon and wondering how high it will go and miss out. That's why I have $ ready to buy back in at any time on exchanges from the high sell and always have some in Crypto to grow. Much less of a roller coaster when you can get out at the high part partially and jump back on when it is lower. I am just hoping to be heavy on the crypto when the next big pulse comes and hang on!
Whenever I think interaction and engagement is low or negative, I take that as a sign that it is time to branch out and do some networking again. Find people who I haven't met yet that at the builders and community members for life. Amazing what happens when you spend some time looking into who the other big builders are connected with and who engages with them. When people start to bitch about how bad things are, it reminds me every time of the losing party in the American election claiming they are gonna move to Canada. ;) That is not an option and giving up on your country because the other color won this time is not the answer.
That FOMO is tough! I always experience a little internal psychological pushback as I'm DCA'ing out during bull cycles but in the long run I'm never sorry I did it. I think I'm done with alts after the last bull cycle (except for Hive). I've parlayed some gains from previous gains into boring traditional investments, just so I'm diversified. Hopefully that doesn't backfire. No one really knows how AI is going to change the global economy. I've been hearing lots of people talking about total consumer debt cancellation and a complete restructuring of the economy. If that happens I'm guessing most traditional investments will take a huge hit except precious metals and such. I wish I had a crystal ball.
That's a good strategy to network during times of low engagement. I wish I had more time to communicate with people outside of Hive, in chat groups and such, but there never seems to be enough time in the day.

That's a good example! Hive is a unicorn (but people inevitably develop amnesia in this regard). I've tried several other platforms for my writing and, even during slow/turbulent times, nothing comes close in terms of rewards and engagement.
Yah I just can't quit Hive. I am sure there are other platforms worth attention but I have that @tarazkp superpower of stubbornness and consistency. ;)

I had the same thing happen at my lake house when I first bought it. My chimney had a concrete top that failed. I bought it in November 2012 and promptly left for a vacation in Jamaica only to receive a phone call saying that my living room has a huge puddle of water...
The solution was the same: first tarp and then me and my dad replaced the one inch concrete top on chimney with a 5 inch metal rebar reinforced chimney top. That thing is forever...
Oh man, that's would be infinitely worse to be on vacation and not be able to fix it right away. We've literally had to replace almost all of the major mechanicals in this place since November—and now this. The previous owners really left us with a mess. Our home inspector didn't catch any of the problems either.
The extensive tile work we just had done surrounding the pellet stove might have to be ripped out and redone as well. Come on BTC! Lol.
The company we hired is replacing the galvanized steel with stainless and it has a lifetime warranty. I'll rest well at night knowing that.
Inspectors can only catch so much and it depends on the inspector you are using. On the home I am selling I hired an inspector to do inspection so that I can fix the issues I didn't even know about so that I don't have to deal with it when I have a buyer. He did catch a lot of things I was not aware about my home and I had to fix them, but I am sure he missed some as well.

We've had an unbelievable amount of issues since we moved in here in November. The most disappointing thing is our home inspector missed all of it. We've even discovered that the previous owners purposely hid problems. I'd hate to have their karma. The good news is this place will be in tip-top shape for many years to come.
