I wasn’t planning to write this short post today, but my phone pinged this morning, reminding me that a year ago, I arrived in Naples, Italy.

After falling in love with Italy during my 2023 visit to Rome, I knew I had to return. Despite warnings to avoid Naples claims of it being dirty, crime-ridden, potentially mafia influenced, and lacking beauty, I was thrilled to discover how wrong those assumptions were. Naples captivated me with its vibrant energy, rich history, and stunning coastal charm. Trusting my instincts paid off, and this travel adventure became truly unforgettable. In just one week, I immersed myself in the breathtaking beauty of Naples, explored the ancient ruins of Pompeii, and marvelled at the picturesque towns of Sorrento, Positano, and Amalfi. Naples, with its warm culture and undeniable allure, proved to be the heart of an incredible journey.

I’m thrilled that I chose Italy for my travels—I have absolutely no regrets about my decisions. Italy’s vibrant culture and stunning landscapes captured my heart, and I’m eager to explore more of its treasures, from the historic streets of Florence to the serene canals of Venice. Beyond Italy, I’m excited to discover more of Europe, with its rich diversity of cultures and breathtaking destinations. I was disappointed that job uncertainties and financial challenges limited my travel this year, but I’m hopeful that I’ll soon have the chance to embark on new adventures across Italy and Europe. I will say that Germany is currently very high on my list.

Looks like a gorgeous holiday! What was the food like?

The food was incredible, I found that it was easier to find more authentic and less tourist-themed restaurants in Naples I did live on Pizza for the week as Pizza was born in Naples but they did have some lovely looking dishes of pasta too.

I thought it might be delicious! Naples is on my bucket list.
