It was a good day, then It wasn't

Hello hivers and friends, it's good to be with you and I hope you are having a great day. I want to tell you about how much beauty my day was until it wasn't. I had the opportunity to get a job done with branding and I decided to go ahead with my bike. It was a bright and sunny day, yes, the rain was there but it was not a stopper as it made the day humid and fair. Always being safe, I went with my helmet on not because I wanted to, but because I have to. And it turned out that for the first time since I purchased it is did something great, what it was built for.

Cause of the 47cm Fall

I bought the plain t-shirts that I was supposed to and was given this bag to place it in as a customer bag. I also came with my back-bag (school bag) where I was supposed to put it in. To me I thought that it was okay to hold it along with my handle bar as long as I wasn't speeding and on the service lane. I was moving with a speed of 20km average and the bag was clearly not in the way of my wheel until "the Unexpected" happened.

The 47cm Fall

As I rode over this car. The bag with the cloth in it, locked into my front wheel at the me forward in spilt seconds. At first I didn't remember how it happened until hours passed. I blacked out and the hext thing, the first senses kicked and I started hearing noises, and then black and white until the noises turned into voices and monochrome became colours. I was perplexed (don't know the feeling to describe it) to feel water running over me, rescuers trying to wash off the blood from my face, asking about who I am if I'm okay, if I can stand. That's when I realized that I was actually bruised in the face, shoulder and neck and the pain immediately began to creep in.

I met with really nice people that help over for me to be taken care of, first aid at a nearby clinic. My life savers. I was really Glad that God through his ministers helped me, this is just few days ago. They helped paid the medical bills and the medication itself.

Most importantly, Mr Honesty and his wife offered to secure the "47cm bicycle safe, even saying

I will keep it in my parlour until you're back to get it. I felt a deep sense of relief and comfort

I had to call home. My head couldn't carry any longer. As my mom picked and said her location was about 2 blocks away, I was real happy because I almost wanted to rest my head of any platform I found. Mrs Honesty also offered me a meal . I was real thankful. That sense of belonging was compared to nothing because I didn't know how more to thanks her and the husband as I was dumbfounded and in pains needing to rest my head. Everything, the pain, escalated with the dressing of the bruises. I used my face to drift.

The Bicycle stayed there for over a day and when I came back to get it, that's when I saw the damages:

  • Two spokes completely ripped out,
  • Bent selector and brakes on drop down bar
  • and other scratches

Thanks to the immediate care and medication, the injuries are healing and many people who Saw it are surprises to see how quickly it is healing. Yes, if you are wondering if the job was done, yesterday it was and delivered. They meet-up that the t-shirts was branded for was done and nothing delayed it.

At one point in time, we all have minor accidents on bikes and also major accidents. But in all, I really need to be more careful on two wheels especially with one that has a drop down handle bar (road bikes). Some say that it makes them stronger while other say that they will never recline on their wheels again and yet other want to get a new one while other are scared of the unknown.

At one point, this type of accident has happened , either with holding front brakes with force or something entering the wheel like my case. This is the activities that has kept me away for a while from my blog and I'm glad to share with you'll. See you soon. Ride safely.

Wow, that is a serious crash you made there. You some aevere i juries, alrhough it could have been much worse.
And songood tou had tour helmet. Helmets are life savers. Was it damaged too. They always tell you to replace your helmet after younhave crashed with it since the foam in the inside was impacted by the crash.
Get well soon. I hope the repair doesn't cost that much.

I'll be okay before you know. I'm battling it with two different kinds of medications. The helmet is not fully alright though but it works.

The bike doctors recommended changing the wheels with everything new as the old one left a large hole on its way out
