I've had a lot of vehicles over my life but one stands out as my favourite one. It's...
My Ford F100 pickup truck. Damn I loved that truck!
I've had some pretty nice cars, I'll not mention them here, but out of all of them it was that truck that I most enjoyed. It was big and bad, the sort of truck that says, fuck with me and I'll fucken fuck you up you fucker.
Ok, it didn't say that at all, but it made a statement and I loved it...and should never have sold it. (I've done a post on it a long while back so go scrolling if you want to see it.)
What's your transport
What's your transport and why?
Comment below with a photo you took yourself and tell me about it in 50 words or less. I'll throw some votes around.

1st vehicle I ever Stole..?
F100 I think it was 1971?
I was 16.
As You can 👀 I did not have to go far to commit this grand theft auto crime. I drove it over 200 miles that Saturday night... Heheheh
My Dad was PISSED.!!
Hey, I wanter to drive my Mustang but the patch I tried on the gas tank did not take hold. And I had a Date with a hot teenage blond...
I took my parents car once...was driving around thinking I was the fucken king when...they returned home unexpectedly and passed me going the other way down the main street of the town. Needless to say, that night wasn't one of my best.
Nice F'y man...I love them things.
You still crushin' on Anne Percy too I reckon. (I won't tell).
Yep, I screwed the pooch on that one too.
We were engaged to marry and I cheated on her with my brothers wife's sister.
Fucking Alcohol.
It is ok tho. Anne got old and ugly so that makes it easier. 😳
Most do...
Dodged a bullet with Anne, but...cowboy hat to prom? Fuck man, you were hardcore legit.
Were.
And still are.
I am sure I seemed strange to some people.
Never doubt me tho. I have always marched to the beat of my own drum. Never been a follower. Not really a leader either.
Just me.
Being yourself seems like a perfectly valid way to be. Don't ever change.
Fucking Love This...
Passed them going the other way!
That video would be priceless. If we only had that capability back then.
You be like honest...
Lmfao 😂😆😂
Yeah, I tried to come up with a suitable lie but ended up just admitting I was an idiot and took my punishment. A month later I had my license, I'd purchased my own car and moved on.
I haven't had a car for about 18 months and I am loving being a walking guy. I have access to my partner's car if I need, but everything I want is either walking distance or a 15 minute train ride.
I love my vehicles, I'm somewhat of a car guy (truck guy) and I think I'd miss having a car. I'm in the wilderness (outback) shooting all the time and there's no trains out there...well, the Ghan and Indian Pacific I guess, but I think they'd not like to see me and my rifles on there.
Yeah, that's fair... I used to be on a little farm with sheep and had a Honda Ridgeline which was good for hay bales but less good in the snow than our previous Suburu Foresters (which were honestly unbelievably good in snow and ice - much better than the big Ford F-150s we'd see skidding around)... but like you, the farm had nothing walkable so I'm enjoying this change of pace for now.
If I lived in a big city it's unlikely I'd have a car, but considering my lifestyle, my need to get outback, tow and generally be a truck guy it's not possible.
As for dem Subaru's...yeah man, they're pretty capable in slippery conditions, just don't have the towing capacity and high clearance or a dual range transfer case I need in a 4x4. I'd own one though, good all-rounders.
My transport is a very economical Mazda 2. Perfect in cities in the Netherlands.
Very good mpg and even better maintenance cost, or lack thereof
We have the same vehicle here so I know it at least visually. I can imagine how economical it would be and super-easy to park too!
Indeed and this particular model is even better than the average Japanese small car in terms of maintenance
This car looks beautiful and comfortable... Personally, I've always been drawn to Ferraris. I've never owned one yet, but I haven't given up hope of owning one someday. Hugs!
Ferrari's are pretty cool. I went to the factory once, toured around, spent a few hours in the museum; it was a very cool day. I hope you manage to get one someday.
I tried to find photos of my previous car, a Suzuki SX4, which we drove for over 5 years and recorded some good moments in those 120,000 km, but I don't have them on my phone. I did a search on Hive and found a picture in a September 2023 post that also has a picture of a Nissan Qashqai that I bought after the SX4 and still drive.
We have the Nissan Qashqai here, I've not driven one but they seem reasonable for a small SUV. Has it served you well?
Suzuki Sx4 served me for 120,000 km without any breakdowns (although it was bought second-hand with 70,000 km).
I bought a Nissan with close to 100,000 km and after 10,000 km the valve on the intake manifold failed.
So I had to service the engine (turbine, valves, at the same time replaced the chain, links...), after that it serves me OK.
The problem is the 1.2 engine with a turbine, which is too weak for that body.
I will probably change it when it reaches 160000km.
Yeah, I'm a trick guybsonused to big engines, I don't like how they wrong so much out of small engines. Makes them fragile.
I have not driven cars with big cubic capacity (2500, 3000, 5000cc³). Personally, the 1900cc³ and 2000cc³ diesel engines, as well as the 2000cc³ gasoline engines, work great.
The entire history of my cars in one picture. I love the new car. It's a spaceship compared to the old one. The seats are so comfy, and on Pilot Sport Tyres, its super quiet and when required, goes zoom.
Looks like opposite Edwardstown Mazda to me; some nice ANZAC murals down Messines Ave.
Exactly where I got the new chariot :)
Figured. I've heard they're pretty good. Mawson Lakes Mazda also do a good job.
I learned from the salesman that he knew my dad. My dad once worked at Southern Engine and Gearbox, and later moved to Edwardstown Mazda before be moved to Melbourne and promptly died :P
It was good to deal with someone who knew him in a different way than I did.
The servicing, I've been going to Mawson Lakes, because they're much closer, and they've been good to me, too. :)
I'm going there tomorrow to test drive a vehicle, they've been pretty good to deal with, the young girl is quite new to sales but enthusiastic and isn't trying to feed me bullshit. I've heard their service department are pretty good.
New car for the girlfriend? The CX-60s with the inline 6 look delightful, but they're still not as nice as my Mazda6 in terms of luxury and features imo.
Ford trucks are very good, and I know this because I had a friend who owned one for several years and it served him well.
I have never owned a car because our salaries are not enough to buy one, at least not in this lifetime.
Have a good day.
Cheers and best regards.
Ford trucks are build tough...well, they were back in the day. Now they're (generally) built tougher than some, certainly that shit that comes out of China.
My 2500 drives like a tank, and gets horrible gas mileage, but I love it. Inside it is so comfortable, even though it can tow tens of thousands of pounds.
That's my criteria for a truck! ✅
Peugeot 2008 GT (2021). Good mix of size and fuel efficiency. Can go through field roads and can sleep in it if needed. You most likely don’t have those in Australia.
Yeah, we have them, I've not had one but I had a cool Renault once. Good snap by the way.
Oh cool, I had no idea these cars are sold there. I've never had a renault but they do have some nice specimens. My last one was Subaru Outback 2010. Loved it but started to age and needing too much repairing.
Subaru do a pretty good job with their vehicles, always have really - a little quirky at times but generally good engineering and build quality. I can see myself looking at them down the track when I don't need a pickup truck any more.
It was difficult to find a photo, as I don't usually take buses, but it's my mode of transport and I love it. I took this photo on the main avenue while walking along it with a friend, taking photos of the buildings there.
I'm not a huge fan of public transport and never use it in my own city, used it on holiday overseas now and then though.
Comparing the public transport in the two countries where I have been, this one is a luxury. That's why I like it so much. But I did remember my grandfather's white Ford 100 van.Italic
I don't drive a car. So my transport is either bus or my legs. But if Hive ever goes to crazy hights I could see myself buying a ship. Or the horse.
I think you should temper your "buy a ship" plans, it's unlikely Hive will deliver that. A horse maybe, but even then, I don't believe that's a realistic expectation. Dreams can be dangerous and wasteful, set some goals instead.
I wanted to drop you a picture but it's heavily raining today so not taking the car at all, not even leaving the apartment... So you will have to take my words, my transport is my car, a Toyota Yaris from 2004, and there is no way in hell I'm gonna change for one of the modern full of sensors, alerts and such, leave me free to do what I want! I had also a bike but was stolen years ago
